Description
This steel system limits radiant heat as well as stopping flames. Ratings run from EW 30 to EW 120 for doors and fixed partitions.
Where it is used
Glazed corridors next to an escape route use it when radiation must stay limited. A thermal break can cut heat loss.

Standards and installation
EW adds a radiation criterion to integrity E. It does not replace EI when full insulation is required. Glass and gaps stay those of the test.
